Welcome Little One...

I'm still trying to recover from a very busy weekend. On Saturday night, DD1, DD2, & DD3 performed with their hula halau out in Waikiki on the hula mound. Such a beautiful performance overlooking the beach. Then on Sunday, we celebrated DD3's birthday with a party at the Zoo. The kids really enjoyed themselves. Never mind the animals, all they could think about was playing on the playground... lol! Luckily, we were able to convince them to check out the animals first.

Okay, on to my card. This is the card I created for my friend to welcome her new baby boy into this world. I used some scrap SU DSP and the Fox & Friends stamp set. I also tried to incorporate my scallop square punch. I barely use that punch. Guess I need to start thinking of some type of punch art to use it for. Any ideas?

A Thank You & Blog Candy Win...

I was lucky enough to win some fabulous candy from Shirley so I decided to create a thank you card for her. As I was going through my drawer of stamps, I came across this Snoopy stamp that I used for one of my daughter's invitations a while back. Of course I didn't have a stamp for his house so I created my own using some scrap paper.

Below is a picture of the "sweet" candy that I won from Shirley! Thank you so much and Happy Blogaversary Shirley!

Owl Keychains...

Yes, this owl is finally making it's way to my heart! I was never an owl person, but for some reason I'm starting to like this new punch. But I think it might be because the wheels are turning in my head and I'm thinking of other ways to use this punch. Guess you'll have to stick around to see what I come up with.

I've been seeing these owl keychains around and thought I would give it a try. These are mini square post-its that I covered with cardstock and some DSP. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch the holes. This was a really quick project. I think the part that took the longest was putting the owl together... lol! Thanks for stopping by!

Island Girls Social 2...

I was lucky enough to attend the Island Girls Social 2 this weekend that was hosted by Teri. She did a wonderful job coordinating everything and I want her to know that we all really appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into this fabulous day. Thank you also to Tamiko's for all the goodies that we received when we checked in. It was a nice day of relaxation and crafting with friends. Who could have asked for more? Thank you Teri, Tamiko, and the rest of the gang for putting together such a fun event!

Teri decided to organize a card contest using the colors in Tamiko's logo... pink, green, & black. At first I wasn't planning on entering the contest, but when I read that the cards would be donated to a local charity... how could I resist? So I decided to create a flamingo punch art for my card. I think I've been having a lot of animals on my mind since we've been learning about zoo animals with my daycare and my DD3 will be celebrating her 5th birthday with a party at the zoo. There were so many beautiful entries and I was surprised to hear that my card won 3rd place! Yay!

Here are 3 out of the 4 projects that we made that day. I didn't get a chance to put them together until after I came home because I was too busy chatting with some friends. That is when I realized that I forgot to take a set of flowers for the 2nd gift card holder. Great food, great projects, and most of all... great friends!

August OCS...

Here is the card that I created for this month's OCS. My partner this month was Cami and the pressure was on once again! For those of you who know Cami, she makes the most beautfiul cards and really has an eye for details.

The theme for this swap was "Oriental." I knew immediately that I wanted to use my Kimono Kids stamp set, but just didn't know how to make it work. I decided to make a step card (at least that's what I think it's called...lol). I embossed the images of the girls, colored them, and cut them out. Since I wanted to make the little girls look like they were at a Bon Dance, I made a Yagura (bandstand for the musicians/singers) for the background using some scrap paper. Making this card reminded me of the time (many years ago) when I made a 3-D structure of the Yagura for my group's Summer Fun performance.

Here is the inside of my card.

Here is the adorable card that I received from Cami. Remember how I said she has an eye for details? She even added some little dots to the little girls' faces. Look at all those little cherry blossoms... my favorite! She was also sweet enough to send me this stamp set. Thank you Cami! So glad to finally meet you in person!

Here is the inside of her card... simply beautiful!

Pikachu Punch Art...

My friend's son was celebrating his birthday this past weekend and his theme was Pokemon. I decided to make this card and composition tablet to go along with the rest of his "Pokemon" themed gift. I hope to have a chance one day to sit down and create the punch art page to share with all of you. Until then, have a great weekend!

Baby Gift Tag...

My hubby needed a shower gift for one of his co-workers so I decided to use some leftovers from a previous swap and create a tag to put on the gift bag. The baby buggy is made from the 1-3/8" circle punch, 1/2" circle, 1/4" circle, and the scallop circle punch. The lines that attach the wheels to the buggy is actually the letter "X" stamp from one of my retired sets (and I'm drawing a blank on the name of the set... sorry). The baby is stamped from the All In The Family set and the baby's hands are actually 1/8" circles punched with the Crop-A-Dile.

Teri's Class Projects...

Purse Card...

I wanted to create a card for a dear friend to let her know that I was thinking about her and hopefully put a smile on her face! So I quickly put this card together during the kids' nap time in hopes to be done before the mailman arrived (and yes, I made it in time... hehehe)! It's a simple card, but my main goal was to have the purse stand out. The purse was created using the Top Note Die, Frame Oval Scallop Die, Scallop Circle #2 Die, and Beautiful Wings Embosslits. I decorated it with lots of the new Basic Rhinestones that Stampin' Up! just came out with.

Thanks for stopping by today. Here is the fabulous project that Naoko taught us how to make at this month's meeting! It's a notebook holder that was created using the new Stampin' Up! file folders. Wouldn't these make great gifts? I guess I need to order some of those file folders and get to work! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Just wanted to share the wonderful swaps and convention RAKS that I received at our August Mtg. It was so nice to get back into the swing of things and catch up with friends. Check back tomorrow to see the project Naoko taught us how to make. Let's just say that maybe I'm starting to "lean" towards getting the owl punch now... hehehe! You'll see why when you check back tomorrow. Until then...

My August Swap & A RAK...

Here is the swap I created for our meeting this month. I used the Make A Monster set for this card. If you're wondering why my monster doesn't have a mouth, it's because this swap was created with the help of DD3. She chose the colors and the set. I let her choose the monster and she said she only wanted the one eyeball to be stamped... nothing else. She claims that since he's a monster, he doesn't need a mouth... hehehe! Mouth, or no mouth, I still think he turned out kind of cute!

This is a RAK that I received from my friend Beth. She is always so sweet to think of me. I love how she decorated the little jar with Hello Kitty. I guess it's time for me to start using my Cricut again. Thanks for stopping by!

A Gift Box & Treats...

Here are some pictures of the gift/box that I created for my friend's birthday. For the box, I used the instructions that I created for my Octopus Box that is on Craft Project Central. This time I created a divider to put in the box to separate the candy from the other items. I made a little punch art ladybug and attached it to the small hand sanitizer and the post-it note cover was created to match the box. The flowers were created using the Island Floral die. I just crumpled the flower petals before putting it together with a brad. I hope after seeing this you feel a little inspired to create something! Have a great day!

This is the card that I created for Kris' Surprise Baby Shower! I actually received this stamp from a friend during Easter, but never got the chance to ink it up. But when I looked at it, I thought it would be perfect to use on a baby card!

I also decided to stamp some onesies and burp cloth using craft ink to send with her card. I hope she likes it!

Here is the candy that Lollipop Crafts is giving away!
