What do you do with scraps of DSP and extra brads? While rearranging my craft area, I realized that I had a lot of brads & DSP so I decided to make some flowers with my girls. They helped me punch them out and cut the others out with the big shot. They started to help me crumple them up, but let's just say they decided to leave the rest for me. When it was time to assemble them, my little elves were back... hehehe! Here are some pictures to share of our creations. Now the next task is trying to figure out what I'm going to make with them... hmmm?
Have a great weekend!

Sympathy Cards...
I can't believe I forgot to post these cards. I made these sympathy cards for a funeral that we attended for my Grandma's sister last month. Just like "boy" cards, sympathy cards are hard for me to make. I start to feel so sad when I'm creating sympathy cards. But on a good note, they stand as a reminder to me to cherish the time we share with our loved ones because we never know when our time will come. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Cupcakes Anyone?
A friend asked me to help her design invites for a shower she is planning. The theme is cupcakes and the color combo she wanted was pink/brown. This is what I came up with. The little cupcake was created using the scallop circle punch and a square piece of cs that was crimped. The big cupcake was actually made by using a stamp and cutting it up to create a pattern. I then used the pattern to trace and cut out on the cs. I ran the bottom of the cupcake through the crimper and the top of the cupcake was run through the big shot using my texture folders. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

Magnetic Notepad...
While shopping at Wal-Mart, I came across this beautiful notepad. I just love the butterfly, flowers, and of course the colors. I bought it without knowing what I would do with it, but after staring at it for a while, my creative juices started flowing and this is what I came up with... a magnetic notepad with pen. The flowers are cut with one of my big shot dies and the background is made with one of my texture folders. The sentiment came from a book that was given to me by one of my good friends. I added some strips of magnets to the back so that the recipient could hang it on her refrigerator or something. All in all, I'm pretty happy with the outcome, especially knowing that when I first started I had no clue as to what I was going to create. Enjoy your weekend!

Coaster Scrapbook...
This is the last of my New Year's Eve projects that I have to share with you. I still can't believe that I got so much done in one night. I created this as a gift for someone celebrating their birthday this month. I am hoping that she will like it. It was pretty simple putting together, just a matter of using my big shot dies and texture folders. At the rate that I've been using my big shot, you would be surprised to know that I was very hesitant to spend all that money on the machine thinking I wouldn't be using it as much. Guess you can say that I'm definitely getting my monies worth! LOL!

Another Boy Card...
I created this card for one of the little boy's in my daycare that will be turning one soon. His theme for his party is "Cars" so I used some stickers to decorate the card. I tried to keep it simple and created a shaker card for him. I also used my textured folders for the background. I sure hope that SU comes out with more texture folders because these are really fun to use! Thanks for stopping by... have a great day!

Happy Birthday Zeke...
Here is another card that I created on New Year's Eve...
It's a birthday card that I created for my nephew Ezekiel. He is turning one this month and I just love how this image had a cupcake with one candle... perfect! I was a little stumped at first trying to make a "boy" card and didn't want to over do it with the embellies. So I decided to use my texture folder for the base of the card and my top note die. I also added some ribbon and buttons hoping to make it look a little more "fun." Hope you all have a great weekend!

Altered Notepad...
While doing the normal routine of cleaning out things before the new year, I found more items in my craft box to alter. This mini folder contains a notepad and pen. At first I wanted to cover it completely with DP, but I couldn't figure out the best way to do it so I decided to just decorate the cover. As you can see, I'm still working on my coloring as well as using my big shot dies and texture folders! They sure come in handy!

Tinkerbell Card...
With all the birthdays coming up in the next couple of months, I figured I would get a head start on making some birthday cards. Here is a card that I put together mainly using DP. I just cut out the images that I wanted and layered it on the card... quick and easy, huh? Hope you enjoyed your weekend. Wishing you all a great work week!

For Our Beautiful Hula Angel...
On a somber note, I woke up the day after Christmas to learn that one of my daughters' hula sisters passed away on Christmas Day. It was a big shock as her passing was very sudden and she was only a teenager! Emma was a beautiful hula dancer whose smile would just illuminate the room. I'm sure she is now dancing with the angels!
They will be holding a Memorial service for her this weekend and so I decided that a handmade card was the way to go. Our prayers go out to her family as they deal with the loss of their child. Emma, our beautiful hula angel... may you rest in peace! We love you and we miss you dearly!

Swivel Book...
Here is another one of my New Year's Eve projects... hehehe! As you can see, I've been working on my coloring... still a long way to go, but for now I'm satisfied since I know that it takes time to learn this type of skill (esp. for me... lol)! I decorated this swivel book for a special friend who is celebrating her birthday this month. I hope she'll like it!

Simple Is Best...
First of all, I'd like to wish everyone out there a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Can you believe that it's already 2011? Time is surely flying by quickly! I hope that everyone enjoyed their New Year's Eve celebrations. As for me, I used the time to catch up with some of my projects which I will be posting over the next couple of days. You see, I'm not one to set off fireworks, but I do enjoy watching them up in the sky. But this year, the smoke was really thick (because my neighborhood does a great job with ringing in the new year) so I decided to stay inside most of the night and craft. Here is one of the projects that I was able to complete...
168 TAGS!!! These tags will be attached to the Teacher/Staff Valentine's gifts from the school PTO Teacher Appreciation Committee. I know that Valentine's isn't until next month, but I didn't want to get stressed out by waiting to the last minute... and boy does it feel good to be done!
Here is a close up of one of the tags. I used the new stamp set called Valentine Defined to create these tags. Enjoy...
