Teri's Class Projects...

Even though I was so exhausted from the Keiki Hula Competition this past weekend, I still found some energy to make it to Teri's class on Sunday. I was so glad I went! Look at these fabulous projects that we made! It's so funny because not only do I look forward to going to Teri's class, but so do the rest of my family. While I'm crafting and DD4 is taking a nap, my hubby walks to the beach with my 3 older daughters. My girls also love to go "hunting for treasures" in Teri's backyard too! Thank you Teri for always welcoming my family! We really appreciate it! And for those of you who don't know Teri, please check out her blog... you won't be sorry!

Hula Treat Bags...

After a very LONG and busy week, I am back... again, and hopefully for good! Last week was a very emotional week for me.

My Grandma's funeral was held on Tuesday and then on Thursday was the start of my daughters' Keiki Hula Competition. This year, my oldest daughter was chosen as the female soloist to represent her halau. After many hours of practice (which of course I teared up each time watching her), it was finally her time to shine on stage. Although she didn't win, she did an amazing job and we are all so very proud of her! On Friday night, both DD1 & DD2 performed their Kahiko chant with their hula sisters. I was so nervous for DD2, but she pulled it off like a pro. That night they announced the winners of the Kawena'ula Keiki Hula Scholarship winners and my DD1 was awarded one of the scholarships! Woohoo! This award was based on a nomination from their halau, a written essay, and academics! We were once again very proud of her! On Saturday morning, DD1 & DD2 once again performed with their hula sisters the Auana portion of the competition! It was a tough competition and our halau did an outstanding job (yes, I'm a little biased... hehehe) and we are very proud of them all!

Okay, enough rambling for me. I just wanted to share a little about why I was MIA... again. Back to my post. This is the treat bag that I made for the girls' hula sisters on Kahiko night. Luckily I only had to make 14 of these and of course I had some help from my little elves. I will be back tomorrow with some more projects to share! Hope you all have a good week!

My Wedding Anniversary & Blogaversary Celebration...

Today is a very special day for me! We are celebrating both my wedding anniversary and also my 1 year blogaversary!

I created this card to give to my hubby for our 13th anniversary. Can't believe it's been 13 years already (and a total of 20 years together as a couple)... boy do I feel old! But I am looking forward to many more years to come! I guess since I made this card last night I must have been feeling a bit patriotic... hence the red, white, and blue... LOL! To make this card, I used a retired SU set called Old Friends. I like it because it kind of reminds me of Ragedy Anne & Andy.

BLOGAVERSARY GIVEAWAY:

As I mentioned, today is also my 1 year blogaversary! I kind of started my blog on my anniversary so that it would be easy for me to remember the date... hehehe! After 300+ posts, over 80,000 visits, and 100+ followers, I can't believe that I'm still here! Blogging was totally new to me, but all of you have welcomed me with open arms... I am in awe! I have learned so much and am thankful for all the friendships that I have made through my blog and crafting. It has been a wonderful journey for me to share my creations and I thank you for being there for me with all your sweet comments! Now on to the Blog Candy Giveaway... sorry, I don't have a picture of the candy because I haven't really had the chance to gather it up with all that's been going on, but I promise it will be SWEET!

Here are the rules:

1. As of yesterday 7/4/10, you must already be a follower.

2. Leave a comment on this post telling me which is your favorite project that I've posted in the past year!

That's it! Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy (that's my daughter's favorite saying... hehehe)! This blog candy ends on July 15th. I will announce the winner on the 16th. Good luck and thanks for following me!

BLOG CANDY GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED... THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

Teacher Gifts...

I made these post-it holders for my older girls to give to their teachers for the end of the year & summer school gifts. It's a good thing that I made them ahead of time because you never know what life will bring you... as it was in my case. There has been barely time for me to craft lately because I just haven't been in the mood, so a lot of these projects that I'll be posting in the next week will be of things I created in the earlier part of June. Thanks for sticking with me. I promise I'll have more to share soon, but until next time... thanks for stopping by!

I'm Back With Some CPC Projects...

I am back to blogging (well, sort of) with some projects to share from my fellow Craft Project Central DT. But first, I would like to thank all of you who kept my family in their prayers and sent their sincerest condolences. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and friendship through this tough time in my life! I am slowly trying to get back to my daily routines because I know in my heart that my Grandma would want it that way!

Here is a Great Friends Note Set was designed by Michelle. It is the perfect gift to give to your BFFs! The cover is a Clear-Mount stamp case and opens to reveal inside a little notebook, pen, and Post-It note pad.

This Wedding Ensemble was designed by Sonya. It includes thank you cards, place card tents, table number/menu tents, and favors. The templates can be easily changed to fit any party theme.

This Wedding Album was designed by Jacque. It was created using the Guest Book Simply Scrappin' Kit. What a great way to scrapbook that special day!
